The main panel is filled with a geometric interlace pattern forming a twelve pointed star at the centre. The compartments are decorated with gold dots and six-leaved rosettes. The spine has been repaired and is comparatively recent. The envelope flap has a border identical to that on the upper and lower covers, with a roundel outlined in gold at the point of the flap.
