Accompanied on the margin by two other works bearing on the interpretation of the same, by Jalāl al-Dīn al-Suyūṭī ; the first (on pp. 1-437) entitled al-Iklīl fi istinbāṭ al-tanzīl, being a commentary designed to prove that nothing whatever exists which is not mentioned in the Koran, either explicitly or implicitly ; the second (on pp. 438-530) entitled Mufḥimāt al-aqrān, being an explanation of ambiguous words and expressions occurring in the Koran. To which are added two appendices, containing a number of works by different authors, namely : (1) Fawāʾid mustanbaṭah min Sūrat al-Nūr, a commentary on the 24th Surah of Koran, by Aḥmad ibn ʿAbd al-Ḥalīm Ibn Taimīyah ; (2) Tafsīr āyat wakallam Allāh al-āyah, an anonymous treatise on the nature of the Koran as revelation, chiefly directed against the tenets of the Jahmīyah sect ; (3) al-Radd ʿalá al-Jahmīyah, a refutation of the tenets of the Jahmīyah, regarding the nature of the Koran, by the Imam Ibn Ḥanbal ; (4) al-Risālah fi al-Qurʾān, on the nature of the Koran, by Aḥmad Ibn Taymīyah ; (5) some extracts from Jalāl al-Dīn al-Suyūṭīʾs introduction to the Koran, entitled al-Itqān ; (6) Fawāʾid fi al-afʿāl al-ikhtiyārīyah lillāh, on voluntary actions as attributed to God, by Aḥmad ibn Taymīyah ; (7) al-Fawz al-kabīr, on the principles of the exegsis of the Koran, by Walī Allāh Dihlawī ; (8) al-Qāʿidah fī al-Qurʾān, a treatise on the nature of the Koran, with a special reference to the tenets of the Jahmīyah, by Aḥmad Ibn Taymīyah ; (9) Risālat suʾāl wa-jawāb, another treatise on the same subject as the preceding, by the same author ; (10) Aḥādīth al-tawḥīd wa-radd al-shirk, proofs of the unity of God, by ʿImād al-Dīn Ibn Kathīr.
