Short shot of a manuscript, Dated manuscript, content: Commentary on the Ḥadīṯ collection al-Arbaʿūn as-Sailaqīya by Abū 'l-Qāsim Zaid Ibn ʿAbdallāh Ibn Masʿūd al-Hāšimī (lived in the 5th/11th century), writing: changing hands or ducts. Highlights in red: dots, drops or three-point clusters as verse separators, the headings (al-ḥadīṭ + the ordinal number written in words), the expressions qāl ar-rāwī, qauluhū ʿalaihi s-salām, al-maʿnā. Quotations of the words of the prophets written with a wider qalam., Binding: Black-brown worn leather strap with (faded) blind pressing and flap. Lid frame with multiple strips. The corners bevelled. In the middle there is a simply executed almond, which is connected to the frame via a horizontal and vertical line.
