Transcribing, reciting and listening to the prayer books have been considered an act of devotion as well as having talismanic effects. Dalā’il al-Khayrāt, composed by Muḥammad ibn Sulaymān al-Jazūlī al-Simlālī (d. 1465/870 AH) in Morocco is one of the most significant prayer books containing blessing and prayers for the prophet Muḥammad. This copy was printed in Istanbul based on the manuscript calligraphed by Nūrī ‘Uthmān known as Qāyishzādah or Kayışzade Hafız Osman Nuri Efendi (1833-1894), a famous calligrapher of Ottoman empire.
