Örnek Metin Manuscript copy of Bahāʼ al-Dīn Muḥammad ibn Ḥusayn ʻĀmilī 's Tashrih al-aflak ("Anatomy of the celestial spheres"), including his "Sharh," or commentary. Contains a theoretical explanation of the possibility of the Earth's rotation. Written in black naskh script, with astronomical diagrams and some additions written in red. One page preceding the manuscript and three pages at the end are written in a larger, looser Arabic script in black ink. Dated 1072 H (1656 AD).
Biyografik/Tarihsel not Bahāʼ al-Dīn Muḥammad ibn Ḥusayn ʻĀmilī was a Shia Islamic astronomer, theologian, poet, architect, and mathematician responsible for a cultural and intellectual revival of Safavid Iran in the late 16th and early 17th centuries. The author of many works of poetry, theology, mathematics, and astronomy, he is credited as one of the first Islamic scholars to propose ideas of the Earth's movement prior to the dissemination of Nicolaus Copernicus's discoveries.
