Notlar Ms. codex Title from 'title page' (p.1) Collation: V-1 (9), 19 V(199), V-1 (208); almost exclusively quinions; catchwords present; foliation in black ink, Hindu-Arabic numerals; pagination in pencil, Western numerals, supplied during digitization (mistakenly repeats p.23) Layout: Written in 23 lines per page; frame-ruled Script: Naskh; compact, angular Egyptian or 'Syrian' hand in a medium line; virtually serifless with pointing mainly in strokes rather than distinct dots, some elongation of horizontal strokes, more rectilinear descenders Decoration: Keywords and section headings rubricated (text to be entered in red supplied in upper margin, occasionally visible); textual dividers in the form of red discs Support: European laid paper of at least two types; mainly with 10 laid lines per cm (vertical), chain lines spaced 25-27 mm. apart (horizontal), paschal lamb in four-lobed circle watermark (53 mm. tall, see p.401, 414, etc.), and "Td" under trefoil countermark (see p.412), well-burnished to glossy, light cream in color, sturdy though fairly thin and translucent; occasionally a type with 7 laid lines per cm (vertical), chain lines spaced 28 mm. apart (horizontal), and anchor in circle watermark; staining and tide lines Binding: Pasteboards (quite thin, semi-limp) covered in brown leather ; Type III binding (without flap) ; doublures in brown leather ; upper and lower covers carry blind-stamped scalloped mandorla (filled with vegetal composition compare Déroche class.
