| Sample Text | In most Arab countries, Islamic law is codified in each country according to the rules of that country and is exposed to the interpretation of the judicial system according to the national judiciary. Fatwas do not occupy a special place in that system, except in cases of explaining very unusual or subtle points of law for experts (not covered by the provisions of modern civil law) or to give moral authority to a certain interpretation of a rule. In countries where Islamic law does not form the basis of law (as is the case in various Asian and African countries), different mujahideen may issue contradictory fatwas. |
