Notes	First of all, Hz. The practice of quoting the verses referenced by the Prophet continued throughout history in later periods. Likewise, the companions quoted the verses on various occasions in the natural flow of life and thus made the verses functional in their daily lives. Evaluating the narrations containing verse quotations attributed to the companions in the sources in terms of context is important in terms of comparing the approach to the Quran today with the approach in the period of the companions. There are enough narrations in the sources that allow us to make an evaluation on the subject. Among the examples in the narrations in question, there are quotations of verses that are compatible with the in-text context of the Quran, as well as those that seem contrary to the context. The mentioned situation shows that although some of the companions had a significant sensitivity on this issue, some of them acted more modestly. This phenomenon is related to the out-of-context approach to the verses; This has manifested itself as applying a specific expression to the general public, understanding a figurative expression in its true sense, and adopting flexible attitudes from time to time in taking into account the narratives that reflect the in-text and extra-textual contexts of the verses. It is thought that the aforementioned approach style has more or less influenced the commentators throughout history and contributed to the formation of a certain tradition regarding the approach to the verses. The approaches adopted in the commentaries on this issue lead us to this conclusion.
