Notes Baghdad has been a city where sectarian conflicts occur intensely. 3rd/9th At the end of the century and in the 4th/10th century. The Shiites were on one side of these fights, which became more evident at the beginning of the century, and the Sunnis were on the other side. The fights became more intense from time to time and evolved into an actual intervention against religious centers. Bera s̱ā Masjid, which has a special place in the Shiʿī belief and culture, is one of these centers. In the article, an apocalyptic narrative about the Bera s̱ā Mosque, which caused serious tensions between Shiites and Sunnis in Baghdad, was analyzed. In this context; The narrated story of this famous mosque, which caused serious fights between Shiites and Sunnis, was subjected to political and military interventions, sometimes changed hands, was destroyed and razed by the state, and was rebuilt by the state, was evaluated within the framework of the relationship between history and hadith.
