Notlar	Bu çalışma, Siyonizm ekseninde ve İsrail’in kuruluş miti bağlamında kutsal metnin araçsallaştırılmasını konu edinmektedir. Avrupa’da sömürgeci ve milliyetçi bir hareket olarak ortaya çıkan Siyonizm, politikalarını güçlendirmek için sıklıkla Yahudi kutsal metinlerini referans göstermiştir. Bu bağlamda ulus devletlerin vazgeçilmez bir parçası olarak kabul edilen vatan meselesini Filistin’e dönüş mitiyle, işgal ve yerleşim politikalarını ise Yeşu Kitabı’nın Siyonist yorumu üzerinden meşrulaştırmaya çalışmıştır. Bu yaklaşımların en görünür ve etkileyici hâlinin arkeolojinin kullanımı ve kutsal metinlerde geçen isimlerden hareketle haritalandırma çalışmaları üzerinden gerçekleştiğini söylemek mümkündür. Kuşkusuz bu aşamaların gerçekleşmesi için sürgünün itibarsızlaştırılması, İsrail toprağına ve dolayısıyla tarihe dönüş fikri büyük önem arz etmekteydi. Bu süreçlerin İsrail’in kurucu erkleri tarafından başarılı bir şekilde işletildiğini söylenebilir. Bu çalışmada Siyonist tarih anlayışı kurgulanırken, kutsal metnin hangi açılardan referans alındığı ve bunun arkeoloji ve haritalandırma üzerinden nasıl uygulandığı incelenmektedir. Ayrıca tüm bunların neticesinde ortaya çıkan mitik anlatı da eleştirel bir şekilde işlenmektedir. This study deals with the instrumentalization of the Scripture in the context of Zionism and the founding myth of Israel. Zionism, which emerged as a colonial and nationalist movement in Europe, often made direct references to Jewish holy texts to strengthen its policies. In this context, it tried to legitimize the homeland issue, which is considered an indispensable part of nation-states, with the myth of return to Palestine, and the occupation and settlement policies through the Zionist eisegesis of the Book of Joshua. It is possible to say that the most visible and trenchant form of these approaches is realized through the use of archeology and mapping studies based on the names mentioned in the sacred texts. Undoubtedly, for the realization of these stages, the idea of discrediting the exile and returning to the land of Israel and thus to the history were of great importance. It can be said that the processes in relation were operated successfully by the founding powers of Israel. In this study, while constructing the Zionist understanding of history, it is examined from which aspects the Bible is referenced and how it is applied through archeology and mapping. In addition, the mythical narrative that emerged as a result of all these endeavors is critically examined.
