Notlar	Les processus d’expansion des Espagnols et des Ottomans dans la Méditerranée occidentale convertissent le Maghreb central en une zone de conflit entre les deux empires. Plusieurs villes furent fondées aux fins de surveiller les mouvements de l’adversaire, outre de lutter pour contrôler le territoire voisin à chacune de ces enclaves. Les tensions politiques et militaires sont bien connues, ayant été étudiées par l’historiographie traditionnelle. Ce qui résulte de particulièrement intéressant, c’est la création d’une société de frontière qui permet des changements par rapport à ceux de la métropole d’origine. Oran, Mers,el,Kébir se convertissent, par conséquent, en des lieux où s’organise une nouvelle société, avec ses règles et manières spécifiques permettant de créer une nouvelle réalité qui a perduré tout au long de l’époque moderne. The Spanish and Turkish expansion process in the western Mediterranean changed the central Maghreb into a zone of conflict between the two empires. .A series of towns were created to be used to watch enemy movements, as well as to struggle to control neighbouring territories and enclaves for each The political and military tensions are well known, having been studied by traditional historiography .What is particularly interesting, is the creation of a borderline society which allows changes in regards to those of the original metropolis. Oran, Mers,el,Kebir are consequently changed into places where a new society organizes itself, with rules and specific manners enabling a new reality which lasts through out the modern period.
