| Notes | A study conducted by a group of researchers headed by Dr. Mohamed Hossam El-Din Ismail on the Boulaq area due to its importance as a port for Old Cairo and one of the most important commercial areas in Egypt in the Middle Ages. The study focused on the remaining and vanished commercial establishments based on old and modern maps, endowment arguments, and Sharia court documents preserved in the National Archives in Cairo, as well as relevant historical sources. The study monitored the number of 18 remaining agencies. |
