Notlar	The First Chapter encompasses the historical background. It pursues the Ottoman existence in the Arab Gulf. The Second Chapter overviews the diplomatic and political relations between Turkey and the Arab Gulf States. The chapter throws light on the regional and international factors affecting these relations. Finally, this chapter discusses the cultural relations and the role of the Islamic Conference Organization in activating the relations between Turkey and the Gulf States Third Chapter tackles the strategic aspects of te Turkish relations with the Arab Gulf States. It sheds light on the military co-operation in such fields as weapons sales to the Gulf States besides the role of Turkey in the context of USA strategy in the Gulf and the Iran-Iraq war deployment its impact on both Turkey and the Gulf-States, however, the chapter hints at the growing Turkish and Gulf-States fears from the everincreasing military might of their restless neighbors. Finally, the chapter provides an account on peace-pipes which were designed to provide the Gulf-States lacking water resources with drinking water. Then the chapter is rounded off by an account on the 2nd of July 1990 events when Iraqi forces swept Kuwait the Fourth Chapter is devoted to the economic relations between Turkey and the Arab Gulf.
