Notes Treatise on logic, physics and metaphysics by Abū ʻAlī al-Ḥusayn ibn ʻAbd Allāh (Abu Ali Al-Hussein bin Abdullah), known as Ibn Sīnā (Avicenna, latinised as Avicenna, d. 1037). Contents: Chapter One from the Elements of Logic (Essay One of the Principles of Logic, ff. 35v-51v); Chapter One from the Physics (First Treatise of Physics, ff. 52r-75r); Chapter One from the Metaphysics (First Treatise of Theism, ff. 75r-100v). This copy was made from the Medicean edition published at Rome (in Tipografia Medicea, 1593) as shown clearly by its inclusion of a concluding note appended to that edition, which warns that the text contains many statements contrary to 'our Catholic faith', 'Christian doctrine' and 'our Catholic creed', f. 100v, lines 18-25. Like the colophon Section at the end of a manuscript text. to text 46 (f. 552r, lines 21-26), which was also copied from the exemplar, the concluding note here was canceled by the scribe.
