Notlar A history of Egypt under the caliphs, with special reference to the Fāṭimids. The account commences with Muḥammad and ends with the year 857 [1453]. Evidently this work is an abridgment of the authorʼs larger work entitled al-Nujūm al-zāhirah fī mulūk Miṣr wa-al-Qāhirah. | Ms. codex., Title from label on upper cover., A few marginal notes and glosses. The date of copying is given as 1061 [1650/1], but probably this was added by a later hand, for the MS likely goes back to an earlier date., Collation: Paper ; fol. 94 ; catchwords ; modern foliation in pencil using Western numerals., Layout: 17 lines per page., Description: Rubricated in light and dark ink ; vowel signs ; MS in good condition, some repairs. Only a fragment of the first folio remains., Origin: According to colophon copy completed 1061 (fol. 94a)., Incipit: واسلك في تراجمهم طريق من تقدمني من مؤرخي الممالك ثم اذکر ملوك مصر من اول السلاطين الايوبية ..., Ending: واستمر جلوسه بالقصر الى يوم الخميس وتم امره واعطى وامر ونهى واستمر على ذلك انتهى سنة 1061 | Later quarter-bound type III (without flap) binding in brown leather and paper. Multi-colored endbands. | Signatures: Muḥammad al-Kūkhī (fol. 48a); Ḥasan ibn Muṣṭafá ibn ʻAlī al-Ṭāfiʻī? (fol. 94b). Acquired from Brill, Leyden, 1904. | Hitti, P.
