Notlar Selections from Arabic poetry in three divisions. The first contains 12 odes by Laqīṭ ibn Yaʻmur al-Iyādī, Qaʻnab ibn Umm-Ṣāḥib, Aʻshá Bāhilah, ḥātim ibn ʻAbd Allāh al-Ṭā'i, Bashāmah ibn ʻAmr, Namir bin Tawlab, al-Shanfará, Kaʻb ibn Saʻd al-Ghanawī, al-Mutalammis and Ṭarafah ibn al-ʻAbd ibn Sufyān. The second contains 25 odes of which 7 are by Zuhayr ibn Abī Sulmá, 6 by Bishr ibn Abī Khāzim and 12 by ʻAbīd ibn al-Abraṣ. The third contains 22 selections from the poems of al-ḥuṭayʼah and a few anecdotes of his life. | Collation: Paper ; fol. i + 52 + i ; catchwords ; modern foliation in pencil using Western numerals., Description: Separation between hemistitches ; rubricated ; vowel signs ; MS in excellent condition ; two kinds of paper have been used, folio 21 and following being thicker and rougher ; some modern notations in pencil., Layout: 17 lines per page; ruled., Marginal notes in ink. A short table of contents appears on title page. After colophon is a note that the present MS has been copied from in al-Kitābkhānah al-Khidīwīyah in Cairo, one prepared by al-Sharīf Abū al-Saʻādāt, 542 (1147/48)., Ms. codex, Origin: According to colophon copied 2 Rajab 1306 by Muḥammad Aḥmad al-Khūjah (fol. 52b)., Title from title page (fol. 1a), Colophon: تم الاختيار من شعر الحطيئة وبه تمام الکتاب والحمد لله وصلواته على سيدنا محمد وآله وجميع الاصحاب. وکان تمامه في 2 رجب سنة 1306 من الهجرة النبوية على صاحبها افضل الصلوة والسلام وازکى التحية م, Incipit.: بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم. قال لقيط بن يعمر الايادي ينذر قومه | Later half-bound type III (without flap) binding in red leather and marbled paper.
