See Houtsma, M. Th. Catalogue d'une collection de manuscrits arabes et turcs, no. 502). Magical square on fol. 1a. Contains tables, some on smaller pieces of paper pasted between the leaves. Fol. 45 is a later replacement., Collation: Paper ; fol. 51 ; modern foliation in pencil using Western numerals., Layout: 15-17 lines per page., Description: Rubricated ; MS in fair condition, stained and mended., Paper: Dark cream paper with thich laid lines and pulp visible., Origin: Last text apparently completed at the end of Shawwāl 661 [Sept. 1263] in Khwārazm (see end of text, fol. 51a). It is not clear whether this date applies to the redaction of the text or to the copy. Several dated inscriptions on fol. 1a and 51b, the earliest dated Shawwāl 988 H. Short chapter on the appearance of Sirius (al-Shiʻrá al-Yamānīyah)., 3. fol. 46a-51a: Risālah laṭīfah fī ḥisāb / Sharaf al-millah wa-al-dīn Abū ʻAlī Maḥmūd ibn Muḥammad al-Jaghmīnī. Short treatise on arithmetic. | Later half-bound type III (without flap) binding in brown leather and paper over paper pasteboards. Endbands. | Several inscriptions on fol. 1a and 51b, including ownership statements. Fol. 1a: ownership statement in the name of ʻAnbar al-Ḥ---ī al-Mīqātī (dated 15 Shawwāl 988 [Nov. 23, 1580]) ; ʻAlā al-Dīn ibn Nāṣir al-Dīn al-Ṭarābulusī al-Ḥanafī (dated 1016 H. [1607 or 8], price: 30) ; one erased except for the word "al-Mīqātī" (dated Rabīʻ al-Awwal 989 [April-May 1581]), written in the hand of Shaykh Sulaymān al-Falakī ; inscription "1226" H. [1811 or 12]. Fol. 51b: partly crossed out waṣiyah dated 997 H. [1588 or 9] ; ownership statement with name obliterated except for the words "al-Shāmī al-mīqātī" (dated "Rabī al-Awwal sanah [no date]"). Waqf (see inscriptions on margins of fol. 1b-2a).
