A collection of the original poems of a descendant of ʻAlī; mostly eulogies of contemporary celebrities, riddles, wisdom sayings and correspondence., 2. fol. 51a-123b: Hādhā al-Mulakhkhaṣ al-mufīd al-musammā Jawāhir al-ʻIqd al-farīd / taʼlīf Ṣāliḥ ibn al-Ṣiddīq al-Namāzī al-Anṣārī al-Khazrajī. A redaction of al-ʻIqd al-Farīd, the famous anthology of Ibn ʻAbd Rabbihi. It "contains something on everything". After the colophon are three verses of poetry by a later hand., 3. fol. 124a-135b: Hādhihi al-Ḥikāyāt min Kitāb al-Muqtaraḥ fī jawāmiʻ al-mulaḥ / taʼlīf Bahā al-Dīn Qarāqūsh. Selections by an unknown compiler from a story book ascribed to al-Amīr Qarāqūsh, 597 [1201], the freedman of Ṣalāḥ al-Dīn (Saladin) or, according to another account, of his uncle Shīrkūh. The stories refer mostly to well-known Muslim characters. After the colophon is a quotation said to be from Jamʻ al-ṣiḥāḥ [Jāmiʻ al-uṣūl] of Ibn al-Athīr 544-606 [1149/50-1209/10], stating the names of those of the Companions who spoke after they were dead. Compiled under the care of and subsidized by Ḍiyāʼ al-Dīn Yūsuf ibn Mahdī al-Sharafi. | Later type II (with flap) binding in brown leather. Blind-stamped mandorla with pendants and cornerpieces and blind-tooled edging on covers. Similar decoration on flap. Multi-colored endbands. Spine repaired with red leather. Upper cover is loose. | Ownership signatures: Zumar ibn Ḥalām[?] dated [1]287 (f. 1a); Ibrāhīm ibn Abū ... al-Kawkabānī (f. 4a); Muḥammad ibn Aḥsan ibn Muḥammad al-Aḥ..[?] dated 1247, Muḥammad al-Daḥfash dated 1263?, other obscured signatures, one dated 1271 (f. 5a).
