European paper. Spine label (horizontal), with inscription in Arabic script reading "ʻIlal al-amrāḍ". Stained with water and humidity; some loose leaves., Decoration: Opens with a double page of magnificent illumination (fol. 1b-2a), with text written in gold clouds, margins filled with scrollwork bearing stylized floral motifs, executed in gold and colors on a natural ground, and a large headpiece (ʻunwān), in gold and colors, with floral scrolls and title of first text in white (fol. 1b)., Origin: [Kitāb J[ālīnūs] fī al-nabḍ] According to colophon, copied in Dār al-Mulk Shīrāz, Jumādá al-Thānī 1061 [May-June, 1651], by Manūchihr Ibn Maqṣūd (fol. 297a). The rest of the copy is apparently written by the same hand., Incipit: [كتاب علل] بسم ... المقالة الاول من كتاب ج فى الاشياء الخارجة عن الطبيعة المعروف بكتاب العلل والاعراض قال ج ان اول ما ينبغى لنا ان نذكر ما الشىء الذى يسميه مرضا كما يعلم -- [تاب جالينوس في تعرف المواضع] المقالة ه من كتاب ح فى تعرف المواضع الباطنة اذا حدث بها آفة وهو المعروف بكتاب الاعضا الالمة قال ح ان الاطبا يسمون اعضا البدن مواضع وليس يفعل ذلك منهم اقربهم عهدا فقط بل قد فعله كثير من القدما ايضا -- [كتاب جالينوس في النبض] المقالة 1من كتاب ح في النبض وهى اصناف النبض قال ح وردت انه امكننى ان اسقيد معلرفة الامور من غير ان -- [كتاب جالينوس في اصناف] مقالة 1 من كتاب ج فى اصناف الحمايات قال ج ان اخص اصناف الحمايات واولاها بها ما كان منها من نفس طبيعتها واما ساير اصنافها فمن بعض الاعراض التى يلزمها -- [كتاب جالينوس في البحران] المقالة 1 من كتاب ج فى البحران الجملة 1 فى عرضه فى كتاب البحران وفى تعرّف اوقات المرض الاربعة الكلية قال ج انى لست اقصد فى كتابى هذا الى ان الخص على ار معنى نفع اسم البحران -- [كتاب جالينوس في ايام البحران] لمقالة 1 من كتاب ج فى ايام البحران قال ج قد يحتاج فى ان فصح انقضا الامراض التى لا يتنقص قليلا قليلا, Explicit: [كتاب علل] ومتى كان حدوث العرض يكون عن اسباب شيئا فليس يلزم حدوثه ضرورة متى كان حد اسبابه موجودا تم الكتاب -- [تاب جالينوس في تعرف المواضع] وذلك لان الامر على ما قال بان العمل يغلط والعطلة يذوب -- [كتاب جالينوس في النبض] استفراغ الخلط من موضع آخر وقد قلت فى امثال هذه الاشيا كلها قولا شافيا فى كتاب البحران تم الكتاب -- [كتاب جالينوس في اصناف] وبعضها تولده الحمى المطبقة ينقض اما عند ما يتضح الاخلاط واما عند ما يستفرغ وعند ما يعرض لها الامران كلاهما مع-- [كتاب جالينوس في البحران] اذ احدث فى الارنبين او فى الركبتين او الوركين او الانثيين -- [كتاب جالينوس في ايام البحران] طويلة المدة وذدها الامراض القصيرة المدة ومنها كبيرة المكث وذدها حمى يوم \| 1. fol. 1b-85b: Kitāb al-ʻIlal wa-al-aʻrāḍ / Jālīnūs.
