Notes Part three and four of Zamakhsharī's commentary of the Qurʼān, comprising the text from Sūrat al-ʻAnkabūt (29) to Sūrat al-Malāʼikah (or al-Fāṭir, 35). | Ms. codex., Title from inscription on tail of text block., Physical description: 21 lines per page. Written in medium large naskh (professional hand), with use of red for headings. The text is vocalized. Yāʼ for alif maqṣūrah. Thick cream paper with thick laid lines and pulp visible. Marginal annotations. Erased inscription on fol. 1a. Foliation in pencil using Western numerals (omits the first fol.)., Origin: Copy completed on a Monday in the last decade of Dhū al-Qaʻdah 735 [July 1335] by Ibrāhīm ibn ʻAbd al-Raḥmān al-Saʻīdī (colophon, fol. 127b). Portion of colophon erased, probably mentioning the name of the patron., Incipit: Surat Al-Ankabut is Meccan and has sixty-nine verses. In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. God is sufficient for me, and He is the best disposer of account. It is not correct to comment on the meanings of the vocabulary, but on the contents of the sentences. Don’t you see that if you said, “I thought I was Zayd?”, Explicit: On the authority of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, from the reward of Surat Al-Malikah, the eight gates of Paradise invited him to enter through any door I wish. The surah has been completed, and with its completeness, the fourth part has been completed, followed in the fifth part by Surah Yasin, and praise be to God, Lord of the worlds Disbound.
