Notlar Reddish brown Oriental leather binding with fore-edge flap and envelope flap; central ornament of the covers: mandorla with lobed perimeter, an infill of floral scrolls and two fleuron as pendants; curved floral corner infill; frame border consists of lines; at the pointed side of the envelope flap mandorla filled with floral scrolls, ruled frame border; mandorla covered with dark brown leather, fleuron and corner fillings in orange-coloured paper; doublures of the covers and the envelope flap made of paper, doublure of the fore-edge flap made of leather — brownish-black, red — Arabic script → Naskh — paper — Bequest to the Sufi circles of Egypt comprising a collection of sayings, anecdotes, invocations, traditions and poems on obtaining the state of good opinion (ḥusn al-ẓann) and refraining from the state of evil opinion (sūʾ al-ẓann). Often the Sufi ʿAbd al-Wahhāb ibn Aḥmad al-Shaʿrānī (d. 973/1565-1566; GAL II/335-338 S II/464-467; Kaḥḥālah VI/218-219; Ziriklī IV/180-181), his master ʿAlī al-Khawwāṣ and the contemporaries of both of them have their say. The work is also ascribed to the following author: Abū Maktūm Jār Allāh ʿĪsā ibn Muḥammad ibn Aḥmad al-Maghribī al-Makkī (d. 1080/1669-1670; s.
