Notlar Brown Oriental leather binding with fore-edge flap and envelope flap; spine and parts of the fore-edge flap have been renewed with leather in a lighter colour; central ornament of the covers: circle, filled with an eight-pointed star which consists of two four-pointed stars, the part areas have an infill of crescent stamps and gilt dots, at the outline of the circle gilt dots, roofed by crescent stamps and between the cusps of the crescent stamps an ornamental ray; corner-pieces, decorated with a rosette stamp and three gilt dots; frame-border consists of a band of quadrats, each enclosed by four hatched arcs; the ornament of the envelope flap equals the one from the covers, while here, the areas around the circle are filled with rosette stamps; four lobed floral form in the middle of the fore-edge flap, consisting of crescent stamps and gilt dots with an ornamental ray below and above; doublures of the fore-edge flap and the envelope flap are of leather; doublure of the covers are of paper — Title vignette: rectangle with two part areas, framed in blue and golden lines; the upper rectangle area has part of the title in white Thuluth on blue ground with golden scrolls, the blue field has a golden frame with a hasp protruding into the margin; the lower rectangle, a square, has a sexfoil ornament and a twelve foil ornament in it as central piece showing the rest of the title and the authorʾs name written in black naskh in cloudbands on green ground with floral scrolls. ff. 3b-4a: text is framed with blue and golden lines — black, red — Arabic script → Naskh — paper — Second part of a historical work supposed to encompass three volumes, written by the author himself. The second part which is preseved in this MS reaches from the biblical-quranic legends until the Abbasid "shadow" caliph in Egypt, al-Mustakfī bi-Allāh Abū al-Rabīʿ Sulaymān ibn al-Mutawakkil  (845-855/1441-1451; EI2 I/23). A corrupt note at the end of the table of content mentions a third volume. ff. 1a-2a: table of content written by the author
