Qāḍīˊzādah dedicated his commentary to the Timurid governor and sultan of Transoxania Ulugh Beg Muḥammad Ṭaraghāy ibn Shārukh ibn Tīmūr (d. 853/1449; EI2 X/812-814) being a patron of astronomy and mathematics (see Ḥājjī Khalīfah, VI/113, no. 12886).
