Notlar wooden front cover with geometrical ornaments. Instead of using a second cover for the other end of the bark book, the last page (A17) was blackened to give the appearance of a wooden cover. — Northern Ta is being used — bark — The ms. consists of two texts, one on each side of the bark book, that both have the same title “instructions on preparing an antidote against poison attacks” – literally “instruction for a remedy against other people’s poison”. The ‘other people’ (halak) are of course the hostile-minded people from other villages, and the word for ‘remedy’ is taoar on A2 and tambar on B2 which are related to Malay tawar (to counteract, neutralise, render ineffective). A1:     Illustration of a desa na ualu – the eight points of the compass. The backside of A1, which is B1, is glued against the cover. A2:     Poda ni taoar/ta di rasun ni halak A16:     Illustration of a chicken with text: bunu along/hu ulubalang A17:     no text B1:     invisible as glued against the cover B2:     Poda ni tambar di rasun ni halak
