The main figure is the king al-Badrnār ibn al-Nahrwān ibn Ṭaybūsh ibn Qaybūsh. The Leipzig manuscript consists of copies of at least three different hands. The most recent is from Abū Ḥasan Aḥmad al-Rabbāṭ al-Ḥalabī al-Shaqīfātī al-Shāfiʿī, the former owner of the manuscript.
