Notlar Dark brown Oriental leather binding: spine has been renewed in light brown leather; central ornament of the covers: circle with lobed outline, a filling of three circle-shaped, intersecting, small octagons and two stylized fleuron pendants; subfields decorated with gold dots; bevelled corners ornamented with gold dots; frame on the covers consists of a line-pattern and a border of interlace pattern of St. Andrew's crosses; doublures made of embossed leather — black, red — Arabic script → Naskh — paper — Commentary on the well-known grammar didactic poem in around 1000 Rajaz verses al-Alfiya of Jamāl al-Dīn Muḥammad ibn ʿAlī Ibn Mālik al-Ṭāʾī al-Jayyānī (d. 672/1273; EI2 III/861-862; GAL I/298-300 S I/522-527; Kaḥḥālah X/234; Ziriklī VI/233-234). The original work also carries the title Khulāṣah fī naḥw. Ibn Hišām's commentary is actually more concerned with factual description, following the order of the chapters, of the original work, although he quotes many verses using the introductory words, qāla al-shāʿir, qāla, qawluhu and ka-qauluhu. Our MS begins at f. 3b with the bāb afʿāl al-muqāribah. F. 2, 54a-62a, 63a-71b and 102a-105b have each been amended by other hands. Vollers speculates in his catalogue that it might be the commentary of Muḥammad al-Tabrīzī Amīr Khān (lived about 950/1543; GAL S II/304) on the  grammar work, Irshād al-hādī, by Saʿd al-Dīn Masʿūd ibn ʿUmar al-Taftāzānī (d. 792/1390; EI2 X/88-89; GAL II/215-216 S II/301-304; Kaḥḥālah XII/228-229; Ziriklī VII/219).
