Notlar	Brown Oriental leather binding; spine renewed with light brown leather; central ornament of the covers: circle with an infill of dots and hatched interlace pattern; the ornamentation of the angled corner pieces resembles parts of the circle infill; frameborder consists of two lines with stamps of heart shaped leaves touching each other at the tips, each with an infill of a lily; doublures of paper — brownish-black — Arabic script → Naskh — paper — Biography on the founder of the Shāfiʿī law school, Imām Abū ʿAbdallāh Muḥammad ibn Idrīs ibn al-ʿAbbās al-Shāfiʿī (d. 204/820; EI2 IX/181-185; GAL I/178-180 S I/303-305; GAS I/484-490; Kaḥḥālah IX/32-34; Ziriklī VI/26-27). A note on the title page declares the Leipzig manuscript as an excerpt from Ḥilyat al-awliyā' wa-ṭabaqāt al-aṣfiyā' written by Abū Nuʿaym Aḥmad ibn Abdallāh ibn Aḥmad al-Iṣfahānī al-Shāfiʿī (d. 430/1038; EI2 I/142; GAL I/362 S I/616-617; Kaḥḥālah I/282-283; Ziriklī I/157). But according to a note of Ludolf Krehl written on the doublure of the front cover, Ferdinand Wüstenfeld who studied the manuscript claimed it to be a biographical work of an unknown author.
