Notes By some mistake the first sheet is at the end of the Hds. advised and bound as sheet 145. Sheet 141 is in the wrong place; its proper place is in p. 203 between Sheets 58 and 59. Sheets 142, 143 are bound in the wrong place; they form a part of poem no. 1 in the following volume p. 203. — The Hds. is written with great care and evenness. Not vocalized; some sparse vowel characters are mostly dots, rarely Greek characters. A peculiarity of the scribe's orthography is the tendency to derive from Af'el to write against the prevailing rule with an alef, such as: E.g. ܡαμμαμμαμαμαμαμαμαμαματεμαμαμαμαμαματιμαματιμαμέριεμαμερεμαμιεμέμέμαμέρειεμα ܡαμμαμαμαμαμαμαμαμαμαμαμαμαμαμα. — Syriac script → West Syriac (Serto) — paper — An anthology of monastic literature, larger and smaller writings by Athanasius the Great, Macarius, Evagrius, John Chrysostom, Abbot Isaiah of Scete, Dionysius of Athens, Paul Simplex, student of St. Anthony, John the Seer of Thebaid, Isaac Cellarum, Ephraem, Isaac of Antioch, Jacob of Serūgh, Philoxenus of Mabbogh, Isaac of Nineveh, Abraham Ḳīdhūnājā, Hananiah Xenaias (the Jacobite patriarch of Mardin, Ignatius VII, died 1493), Athanasius Abū Ghālib, bishop of ṭṭṭṭṭ, probably the same Abū Ghālib who was previously ordained a monk in 1169. Furthermore, an Ordo precum ܛαμμμαμαμαμαμαμαματεμαματεμαμαμαμειες, excerpts from Causa omnium Causarum and Anonyma. The work is apart from that at the end of the first and at the beginning of the second volume something is missing (the extent of the gap cannot be determined because there are kurrās or sheet numbers are not available), complete. 1.
