Sprenger.1781.Mir'āt al-manṭiq is a Persian commentary by Abū al-Fatḥ Shīrāzī which is a translation of his book Munazzah into Persian ordered by Mir ḤasanAn erratum on the last page of the book.In Arabic and Persian.. University of Chicago Library's copy has evidence of prior bookworms. Most of the text is legible, but some parts are not.. 36, 16, 16, 28 pages, 2 unnumbered pages, 8, 20 pages, 2 unnumbered pages : lithograph illustrations ; 27 cm. A collection of eight treatises on logic, namely : (1) Risālah-ʼi ṣughrá, a manual of logic in Persian, Sayyid Sharīf al-Jurjānī ; (2) Risālah-ʼi kubrá, an abridgment of the preceding ; (3) al-Īsāghūjī, an introduction to logic in Arabic, by Athīr al-Dīn al-Abharī, accompanied on the margin by a Persian commentary by Abū al-Fatḥ Shīrāzī entitled Mir'āt al-manṭiq which is a translation of his book Munazzah into Persian ordered by Mir Ḥasan ; (4) Mukhtaṣar al-mīzān, also known as Shammah fī al-Mīzān, an anonymous compendium of logic, accompanied on the margin by an anonymous series of definitions of philosophical terms entitled Ta'rīf al-ashyāʼ ; (5) Mīzān al-manṭiq, a compendium of logic in Arabic, abridged from Najm al-Dīn al-Kātibī's treatise entitled al-Shamsīyah, accompanied on the margin by a commentary in the same language, abridged from 'Abd Allāh ibn Ilāh-dād's work entitled Badī' al-mīzān ; (6) An untitled tract on the fourth figure of the syllogism by Muḥammad ʻAlī Dak'hanī, all in Arabic ; (7) al-Jawāhir al-muḍīiyah, an Arabic commentary on 'Abd al-Ḥaqq al-Dihlavī's compendium of logic entitled al-Durrah al-bahīyah, by Maqbūl Aḥmad, accompanied on the margin by a short exposition of the ten categories, in Arabic, entitled al-Maqūlāt al-'asharah by Kamāl al-Dīn al-Sahālī ; (8) the first part of Sa'd al-Dīn Taftāzānī's Tahz̲īb al-manṭiq wa-al-kalām, treating of logic, accompanied on the margin with a commentary entitled Ḥāshiyat al-Ḥāshiyah al-Jalālīyah by ʻAbd Allāh ibn al-Ḥusayn Yazdī in Persian followed by a tabulation of the four figures of the syllogism and an erratum containing the table of contents including the titles of the books that have come in margin..
