According to the Encyclopaedia of Islam, Second edition online, this is a plagiarism of Ibn Ḥamdān's Jāmiʻ al-funūn wa-salwat al-maḥzūn; see under Ibn al-Wardī (Nad̲j̲m al-Dīn Aḥmad b. Ḥamdān b. S̲h̲abīb al-Ḥarrānī al-Ḥanbalī). Shelfmark: MS Or 395 - FOLIO. Origin: The item is undated, perhaps copied in the 17th or 18th century. Decoration: Textblock border-ruled in gold (1v-2r); rubrications in red; red dots punctuate text on some leaves. Script: Written in naskh in black ink; pointed, vocalized. Some marginalia in nastaʻlīq; pointed. Layout: 19 long lines with poetry in two columns; some marginalia. Title from Turkish introduction (f. 1v). Manuscript codex. Formerly owned by David Eugene Smith (bookplate inside front cover).. Incomplete copy of an Ottoman Turkish translation of a work on geographical places, plants and animals; ends abruptly at the beginning of "faṣl fī al-buqūl al-ṣighār". Text commissioned by Osman Shah bin İskender Paşa. The first two leaves are in Arabic. Worm damage in the gutter and lower, outer corner, text mostly unaffected. The copy is in several different hands.
