Accompanying materials: a. Inventory cataloguing slip in hand of Winifred Smeaton Thomas -- b. Acquisitions slip from Yahuda. Former shelfmark: From inner front cover and label on lower cover, "IL 385" (likely supplied by Yahuda, see acquisitions slip). Binding: Boards covered in dark purple cloth ; Type III ; pastedowns and flyleaves in brown wove paper ; upper and lower covers carry block-stamped and silver-painted medallion within frame of block-stamped geometric interlace ; sewn in white thread over two cords (ridges at spine, possibly not well recessed) ; overall in good condition though spine is partially detached from text block and first couple of quires are loose. Support: European wove paper of at least two types ; pages slightly brittle at edges. Decoration: Chapter and subject headings and dividers, some marginal glosses, overlining, and hemistich markers rubricated. Script: Naskh ; careful modern hand with some influence of ruqʻah ; partially seriffed with head-serif on initial lām and occasional free-standing alif (slightly wavy), mainly adhering to baseline, pointing mainly in distinct dots, occasionally dot of nūn assimilated with bowl ; hand changes on p.92 to a thicker line with elongation of letters ; incipt, additions and corrections, and some marginal glosses in ruqʻah, different hand from main text. Layout: Written in 21-23 lines per page. Collation: i, VII + I (16), IV (24), V (34), IV (42), VI (54), i ; several pages in final quire left blank ; catchwords present ; pagination in pencil, Western numerals, supplied during cataloguing. Explicit: "اشتق من فاطمة البتول خير النساء بضعة الرسول صلى عليه الله ذو الجلال و اهل بيته اولى الكمال وصلى الله على سيدنا محمد وعلى آله وصحبه اجمعين الحمد لله رب العالمين م م م" Incipit: "الحمد لله رب العالمين و الصلاة و السلام على سيد الوجودات امام النبيين سيدنا و سيد المخلوقين … اما بعد فيقول العبد الفقير الى الله تعالى محمد ابن المرحوم السيد عمر الحريري الرفاعي شيخ السجادة الرفاعية بحماة المحمية احسن الله له و لوالديه و للمسلمين آمين هذه رسالة مباركة سميتها نتيجة المفاخر في اخبار بني رفاعة السادة الاكابر ..."
