Açıklama
An abbreviated Turkish rendition by Nazmizade Murtaza of Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad ibn ʻArabshāh's history of Timur, ʻAjāʼib al-maqdūr fī akhbār Tīmūr. As a young boy, Ibn ʻArabshāh was abducted from his native Damascus by Timur, along with other members of his family, and taken to Samarqand to live. Ibn ʻArabshāh's account, which portrays Timur as a cruel and ruthless tyrant, describes Timur's conquests, his reign, and that of his successor, his grandson Khalil. Nazmizade's made two translations into Turkish of the account: the first was written in a lofty style; the second, a more popular and easily understood version, is the one printed here by İbrahim Müteferrika; information taken from Watson, page 438.
