Ms. 107 Origin: As appears in colophon on p.123, transcription completed Dhū al-Qaʻadah 1150 [Feb-Mar 1738]. Accompanying materials: Cut out of a masjid inserted between pp.66-67. Former shelfmark: British Museum, London "No. 73. Talim al-mutaallim." Binding: Pasteboards (semi-limp) covered in laid paper with dark brown leather at spine, fore-edge flap and edges/turn-ins ; Type III binding (without flap) ; board linings in indigo laid paper ; sewn in cream thread, two stations, often broken, all quires quite loose ; in very poor condition with significant abrasion, lifting and losses of paper and leather, delamination of boards, cover detaching at spine, etc. ; repairs in wove paper ; housed in envelope. Support: European laid paper of several types ; one type with 6-7 laid lines per cm. (vertical), chain lines spaced 30-33 mm. apart (horizontal), three crescent (tre lune) watermark (compare Heawood 869-870), thick and burnished though not very smooth ; another type much thinner and only lightly burnished, with 11 laid lines per cm. (vertical), chain lines spaced 20-23 mm. apart (horizontal), crown above band with "I P" above grapes watermark ; soiled, stained and dog-eared. Decoration: Keywords and section headings rubricated ; occasional overlining in red. Script: Naskh ; fine Turkish hand ; mainly sans serif, but occasional head serifs appear on lām of definite article ; strong horizontal character, adhering to baseline ; slight contrast in thickness between horizontal and vertical strokes ; many descenders flattened (mabsūṭah) ; many closed counters ; point of final nūn usually assimilated with bowl. Layout: Written in 17 lines per page ; frame-ruled (impression of ruling board evident). Collation: V (10), IV (18), 2 V(38), V-2 (46), V (56), III (62) ; chiefly quinions ; catchwords present ; pagination in pencil, Western numerals, supplied during digitization. Colophon: "Scribal," triangular, reads: "وتمامه في شهر ذي القعدة الشريفة على يد اضعف العباد غفر الله له ولوالديه واحسن اليهما واليه وتاريخ السنة خمسين ومائة والف سنة ۱۱٥٠" Explicit: "فاين تجد ذلك الكتاب فأجاب بقوله يجده من يطلبه هو كتاب مشهور ومعتبر بين العلماء فلا بد لطالب العلم من ان يجده ويتبرك بالاثار والخبار المذكورة فيه . الحمد لله على التمام والصلوة والسلام على محمد خير افضل الرسل الكرام ..."
