Binding: Pasteboards covered in brown leather ; Type II binding (with flap) ; pastedowns and flyleaves in a lime green surface-tinted wove paper ; upper and lower covers bear gold-stamped central panel, cornerpieces, and border (mainly rosettes and leaves) ; sewn in black thread (inserted quinion and ternion sewn in white thread), two stations ; overall in fair condition with some abrasion, staining, negative draw in upper cover and flap, etc. Support: European wove paper ; thin (though sturdy) and well-burnished. Decoration: Titles, section headings, keywords, abbreivation symbols and some marginalia (mainly notabilia/side-heads) rubricated. Script: Naskh ; elegant Ottoman hand ; partially seriffed with right-sloping head serifs on lām of definite article, etc. ; effect of slight tilt to the left ; pointing in distinct dots ; mainly open counters ; graceful curvilinear descenders ; fully vocalized ; text on inserted quinion and ternion (in quire 5, pp.99-130) supplied in a different hand. Layout: Written mainly in 9, 11, and 13 lines per page ; frame-ruled. Collation: i, II (4), 2 VIII (36), IV (44), V+V+III (70), 2 V(90), IV (98), VI (110), 4 V(150), i ; quinion and ternion inserted in fifth quire ; final two leaves left blank ; catchwords present ; pagination in black ink, Hindu-Arabic numerals ; pagination in pencil, Western numerals, supplied during digitization (includes flyleaves).
