Notlar	About: Fine early copy of Firişteoğlu's (Firiştezade, ʻAbd al-Laṭīf ibn ʻAbd al-ʻAzīz al-shahīr bi-Ibn Malak) commentary on Majmaʻ al-Baḥrayn of Ibn al-Sāʻātī (d. 696/1296), a compendium on Ḥanafī law, based on the Mukhtaṣar of al-Qudūrī (d. 428/1037) and the Manẓūmah of al-Nasafī (d. 537/1142). \| Shelfmark: Ann Arbor, University of Michigan, Special Collections Research Center, Isl. Ms. 82 Origin: As appears in colophon on p.677, copied by Yaʻqūb ibn [?] with transcription finished in Ramaḍān 860 [August 1456]. Former shelfmark: British Museum, London "No. 125. Binding: Pasteboards once covered in blue and white marbled paper (see envelope flap) with spine and edges/turn-ins in brown leather (marbled paper faced, leather edged, framed binding) ; Type II binding (with flap) ; board linings in paper ; sewn in cream thread, two stations ; endbands virtually gone with only primaries remaining (in green and yellow) ; in poor condition with much moisture damage, abrasion, staining, delamination of boards (layers of manuscript "waste" visible in lower board), etc. ; spine is intact but detaching from textblock along lining ; severe spine slant (cocked).
