Mss. 905, 910, 937, 988, 998, and likely Isl. Ms. 929. | Shelfmark: Ann Arbor, University of Michigan, Special Collections Research Center, Isl. Ms. 981 Origin: Lacks dated scribal colophon ; likely copied in Egypt in the late 1930s and eventually bound for James Heyworth-Dunne (d.1974). As appears on the 'title page' for the latter two sections (pp. 33, and 67), copied (and perhaps abridged) by the anonymous "ا ع" who has identified himself as the copyist of other manuscripts eventually bound for James Heyworth-Dunne (d.1974), see Isl. Support: Machine wove paper, sturdy, beige in color. Decoration: Text executed almost entirely in blue ink with occasional gloss rubricated. Script: Ruqʻah ; quick, compact hand in a medium line ; serifless and freely ligatured with effect of inclination to the left and of words descending to baseline, mainly closed counters, pointing somewhat careless and in strokes rather than distinct dots, final yāʼ usually unpointed. Layout: Written in 11-13 lines per page. Collation: i, VIII (16), IX (34), IV-3 (39), i ; pages left blank between sections (which correspond to gatherings), some serving as 'title pages' (see pp.32-33, 66-67) ; pagination in pencil, Western numerals, supplied during digitization (skips two pages between pp.53-54).
