Former shelfmark: From interior of upper cover and spine label, "IL 96" (likely supplied by Yahuda, see acquisitions slip). Binding: Pasteboards covered in brown leather ; Type II binding (with flap) ; board linings in beige laid paper ; fore edge flap lined in purple textile ; upper and lower covers carry blind-stamped scalloped mandorla (filled with symmetrical vegetal composition, similar to Déroche class. OSd1) as well as tooled border ; sewn in beige thread, two stations ; only traces of headband remain ; overall in somewhat poor condition with much abrasion, staining, lifting and losses of leather, etc. ; repairs to spine, fore edge flap, and board edges in red leather. Support: European laid paper with 8 laid lines per cm. (vertical), chain lines spaced 23-28 mm. apart (horizontal), and possible hand or glove watermark (see p.40, 41, 66, 366, 382, etc.) ; medium cream in color, well-burnished to glossy, sturdy and dense though crisp. Decoration: Some keywords and notabilia (side-heads) rubricated, others in blue ink. Script: Maghribī script ; quite an elegant hand with effect of tilt to the right. Layout: Written in 22 lines per page ; frame-ruled (impression of ruling board evident).
