Ms. 33 Origin: Lacks dated colophon, though paper would suggest 18th century, likely . Inscription on fol.1a (p.3) appears to identify copyist (and former owner) as Mehmet Şakir. Binding: Pasteboards (semi-limp) covered in marbled paper (blue, green and yellow) with spine in red leather ; Type III binding (without flap) ; board linings in yellow surface tinted laid paper ; flyleaves in peach-tinted laid paper ; sewn in dark pink thread, two stations, primaries in yellow and dark pink ; endbands in light-blue and pink ; in fair condition with some staining, abrasion, lifting of spine leather, etc. Support: European laid paper of a few different types ; mainly with 13-14 laid lines per cm. Decoration: Text rubricated with keywords, overlining, abbreviations, etc. in red. Script: Naskh ; elegant Turkish hand ; virtually serifless, though occasional right-sloping head serif appears on lām ; effect of tilt to the left and occasional slight effect of words descending to baseline ; descenders somewhat flattened ; occasional superscripting of final words of a line ; glosses appear to have been supplied in the same hand though in a thinner line and with frequent dramatic elongation of the horizontal strokes.
