Notes	Within the scope of the Maarif Ministry's project to publish some examples of world literature masterpieces for high schools, Cevdet Bey was given the translation of Iranian poet Firdevsî's Shahnameh. The work, which includes an introduction about Firdevsî and his work, a summary of Shahnameh and translations of some epics, could not be taught in high schools because the alphabet reform was carried out shortly after its publication.
