Physical description: 27-28 lines per page, written in small naskh with elements of nastaʻlīq on glazed, laid European paper. Overlining and section headings in red; rubrication lacking in text 3. On leaf 2a, quotations and a magic square. Table of contents for text 1 on leaves 2b-5a. Quotations on inheritance law on leaf 307b. Prayer on leaf 308b. Quotation on Āyat al-Kursī, inheritance law, and other religious topics on leaves 309b-311a. Copious marginal notes. Foliation in Eastern Arabic numerals begins on leaf 14a. Leaves 5-22 appear to be replacements. Leaves 298b-299a, 308a, 309a, 311b blank. Heavy damp staining on first few leaves, but text legible. Front cover and leaves 1-30 detached. Incipit (text 1): الحمد لله الذي احكم احكام الشرع القويم بمحكم كتابه Incipit (text 2): الحمد لله رب العالمين . . . قال القاضي الامام شهاب الدين ابو حامد محمد بن محمود . . . اني علمت في الفرائض اصلا مختصرا ليهدي حفظه الى بيان نصيب كل وارث Incipit (text 3): الحمد لله الذي بين بكتابه فرائض الدين القويم وعين بخطبه لوازم سهام صراط المستقيم Full brown leather Islamic binding; blind-stamped central mandorla with pendants and blind-tooled fillets.
