Notlar Rare collection of miscellaneous Arabic and Persian works on Sufism, comprised mostly of works by Muḥammad Siddiq Badakhshi Kishmi , the Mujaddid Ahmad Sirhindi , Sayyid ‘Abd al-Karim Ajmeri , and ‘Abd al-Rasul Bijapuri , with several tracts written for Sayyid ‘Abd al-Karim Ajmeri , spiritual master of the scribe’s son (see item f), principally at Ambala (Haryana, India) . Volume not dated; individual items partially or fully dated (items f, i, and k) no later than 8 Rajab 1118/16 October 1706, but with several portions dating slightly earlier. Summary of contents at beginning (f. 1r). Variable naskh, nastaʿlīq, and shikastah āmīz hands. Stamped foliation. Lacks original binding. Original text cropped, cut and remounted with new margins in gutter. Folios subsequently rebound in IOL red half leather binding, stamp dated 1 Apr 1924. Folios damaged by wormholes, later repairs, gauze overlay in parts, and stains. Labels from the earlier wrapper remounted at beginning.
