Double red ruling (first hand). Transcribed by two hands. The first copyist, fols. 1v-211v, 218r-333v; second copyist, unknown, fols. 212r-217v. European paper. Catchwords. Marginal and interlinear notes by the copyists and others. Some are in brown ink. Quotations from al-Munāwī. Fol. Iv contains brief definitions of the various categories of Ḥadīths ( Ṣaḥīḥ, mawqūf, matrūk, etc.) extracted from Ibn Jamā’ah’s (d. 816/1413) Zawāl al-taraḥ, which is referred to in this manuscript as Sharḥ Manẓūmat Ibn Faraḥ (Ibn Faraḥ d. 699/1300), i.e. Sharḥ Qasīdah (Manẓūmah) ghazalīyah (gharāmīyah) fī alqāb al-Ḥadīth (see GAL SB I 635, no. 16, I, Cmtre, 1).
