Notes In it, the writer talks about the emergence of Sijilmasa since ancient times, and its reconstruction since the year 40 AH, and mentions its governors and the construction of its ancient great wall. It was surrounded by great forests of palm trees, and riders came to it from every side. Because of its beauty, it was called the Bride of the Desert and the Mother of Villages. Ibn Battuta al-Tanji described it in his journey and praised it, and mentioned that it was the most similar country to the city of Basra, and that there were gold and silver minerals near it half a day, and its people had no knowledge of that, and he concludes his restriction. By including some poetic praises in praise of her.
