Chapter: How was the beginning of the revelation to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and the Almighty’s saying, “Indeed, We have revealed to you just as We revealed to Noah and the prophets after him.” Al-Humaidi told us, Sufyan told us, Yahya bin Saeed Al-Ansari told me Muhammad. Ibn Ibrahim Al-Taymi said that he heard Alqamah Ibn Waqqas Al-Laythi say: I heard Omar Ibn Al-Khattab on the pulpit saying: I heard the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, saying: “Actions are but by intentions, but for every man is what he intended. So whoever emigrated was for a worldly life to gain or a woman to marry, then his emigration was for what he emigrated to.”
