Notlar A bowl with short straight sides that angle sharply to a wide pedestal base. A broad incised line runs below the round rim and just above the base angle. A single round handle was attached on one side near the bottom. The interior and exterior surfaces were once highly burnished. Where the original surface remains, particularly on the bottom of the bowl and the upper foot, there is a glossy metallic effect of the burnishing. The sides of the bowl were pattern burnished to create alternating rectangles of thin vertical lines and of irregular wavy horizontal lines. These rectangles are carefully spaced around the sides leaving a solidly burnished area on either side of the handle. The bottom foot is divided into quadrants by a roughly burnished cross of double lines. | more | less
