Notlar This fragment of a steatite icon contains part of a scene showing Christ before the high priests Annas and Caiphas. Identifiable by their robes, the priests stand under a canopy on the right. In front of them is the officer who struck Christ during his interrogation by Annas (Jn 18:22).
