Notlar This brightly colored fragment comes from the upper right hand corner of a famous type of Persian carpet with large floral designs, traditionally called Polonaise or Polish. Such carpets were very popular in Europe during the first half of the 17th century. They were often ordered or acquired in pairs from Iran.
