Notlar Limestone sculptor’s model of head of a king with the headdress surmounted by horns and the beginning of a sun disk. The work is in three quarters relief emerging from a flat background. On the sides, top and back of the slab the lines indicating the proportions have been marked. Only the body of the uraeus is worked out in the monarch’s forehead, the crest is not even indicated. The work is of good quality and clear cut. The face the fullness almost of a fatness that is so typical of the 26th Dynasty. Condition: Object has been assembled from two pieces with considerable area of restoration across entire width through neck. Nose is restoration. The left side of the face, the mouth in particular, is chipped. | more | less
