Notlar Male head in grey-green metamorphic schist, an Egyptian material, with a faint outline of the natural hair receding above the temples. Forehead deeply lined; depression at the root of the nose; wide open eyes; aquiline nose; heavy nasolabial furrow; sensitive mouth with lips ever so slightly parted. Filtrum. The head turns towards the right. Condition: Although the head may have been part of a bust all edges have been chipped and it is impossible to tell what the whole once looked like. Both ears are damaged with the right ear being mostly missing. The tip of the nose is missing. The back of the head and the back of the neck have been cleaved off. There is some small damage to the top of the head and to the right cheekbone. The piece is discolored in places. | more | less
