Notlar Walking monkey, ithyphallic, right hand lifted to ear, possibly the greeting gesture or the Egyptian gesture of singing; head turned to left, over left shoulder sack, which is closed with a long rope hanging down beneath the left arm of the monkey. The indicated folds at the closed end of the sack show slight perspective. In the bent left arm the monkey also carrying a bag, hanging on a rope by which it is also closed. The hide of the monkey is all over indicated. Head moulded with strong expression. Back: Moulded, hide indicated, bending tail. Relation between sack and left arm slightly distorted. Condition: Little worn surface Left foot and part of right foot broken off. Surface slightly cracked by moulding or firing. | more | less
